Case Study: Odds Farm Park
Dawsongroup were recently contacted by Odds Farm Park to provide a temporary catering solution whilst their main kitchen facility underwent a refurbishment. Odds Farm Park is a family friendly attraction centre in High Wycombe, with a mixture of attractions from a petting zoo to indoor play zones.
Before any installation can take place, a site survey is conducted by our experienced installations team. These are carried out to make sure the area is suitable and to effectively plan around any potential issues. The importance of these site surveys was again highlighted by Odds Farm Park, whose chosen site for the kitchen was inaccessible via Hi-Ab vehicle and forklift. A solution was soon found and put into action, and on the day of installation, a 130 tonne crane was positioned and ready to hoist the Commander into place. The unit had to be lifted straight off the lorry and had to manoeuvre overhead cables. The airborne kitchen was quite a sight, and was quickly lowered into position and ready to go. Full training was given to the Odds Farm Park catering staff by our team to ensure an efficient handover.
After liaising with our Sales Manager, a catering complex layout was quickly designed and agreed consisting of a temporary kitchen and three temperature controlled stores. A 25ft Commander kitchen was chosen and, as with all our hire agreements, clients can pick from our wide range of top brand catering equipment to equip their kitchen to their exact specification. The Commander was equipped with a 20-grid combi oven, six burner range, grill and fryer complete with numerous steel prep tables. Storing a wide range of ingredients, different target temperatures were required. A dry store was installed, as well as chill and freeze rooms, operating at 2°C and -20°C respectively.
All facilities were connected via a custom-built weatherproof link. Our skilled installations team can seamlessly link our catering facilities together, or to your existing facility to maximise the flow of production.
